In this area stood the Jan Reiners Bridge until 2008, on which the trains of the Bremen-Tarmstedt railway line used to cross the Wümme. Part of the bridge had to give way for the construction of the bypass to Lilienthal. One of the dismantled parts of the bridge was erected here as a memorial.
