Year of construction: the chapel was built in 1946. The first stone was laid on May 15 and the chapel was solemnly consecrated on June 23, 1946.
Reason: local residents of Bootdijk erected the place of worship out of gratitude. The neighborhood was spared from severe disasters during World War II and no one from the street perished. Moreover, the chapel served as a plea to protect the neighborhood from persistent floods.
