In 1946, due to a lack of coal, the steam pumping station was converted into an electric pumping station. It is still in function to control the water level in the polders of Spijkenisse and Geervliet. In the pumping station itself there is an information panel of the Hollandse Delta Water Board, on which you can find more information about water management in these polders. The pumping station was designed by architect J. Paul in Zevenhuizen.
