The "Big Tower" rises high above Zierikzee. The tower of St. Lieven Minster, which you can climb via 279 steps, offers a beautiful view of Zierikzee, the Zeeland Bridge and the island. The medieval builders wanted to build a 200 meter high tower, but due to the economic decline of Zierikzee, construction had to be stopped at 62 meters.
