    Hiking

Even though they are labeled as biking trails, the Ridgeland Mountain Biking Trails are open to foot-traffic as well (just hike with the idea that bikes have the right-of-way on these trails). There are a lot of different trails and trail intersections in this tight-knit trail system, so it's best to have the route handy while you're hiking.

    Mountain biking

There are quite a few trail intersections in this tight-knit trail system, so it's best to have the route handy and read trail signs while you're riding. There are lots of bridges, berms, and flowy trails in the system. The trails were constructed in a way to be bike-specific, but they are open to foot-traffic as well, so be aware of other trail users.

The Ridgeland Mountain Bike Trails offer a delightful, easy hiking experience through varied wooded terrain, even though they're built for bikes. You'll wander through dense forests, encounter rolling hills, and pass by distinctive rock formations, creating a surprisingly diverse landscape for a casual walk. It's a great way to get some fresh air and enjoy nature without venturing too far from Ridgeland, Mississippi.

Planning your visit is straightforward, as parking is available right at the trailhead. The trails are maintained by the Tri-County Mountain Bike Association, ensuring good conditions, and they are both family-friendly and dog-friendly. Just keep in mind that bikes have priority on these multi-use paths, so stay alert. This easy 3.7-mile (6.0 km) route, with only 117 feet (36 metres) of elevation gain, typically takes about 1 hour and 33 minutes to complete.

What makes this trail system notable is its accessibility for all skill levels, with many sections classified as green difficulty. It provides a peaceful natural escape right on the edge of urban conveniences. For those interested in longer adventures, the nearby Chisha Foka Trail extends for 10.5 miles and offers scenic views along the Natchez Trace Parkway, including wildflower fields in warmer months.
