At the center stands the Frauenkirche Dresden, whose baroque dome shapes the cityscape of the Old Town. Other striking buildings, such as the towers of the Semperoper, the Royal Palace, and other historic buildings, are grouped around it.
This panoramic view is particularly impressive from the Brühlsche Terrasse or from the Elbe bridges, where the historic Old Town silhouette merges with the Elbe landscape, creating the typical "Canaletto view" motif.
