The Our Lady Hope of the Hopeless Chapel is a neo-Gothic neighborhood chapel, built in 1888. The chapel is used for Marian worship during the months of May and for praying the Rosary after a death. To this day, a mass is celebrated during the Heights Street Fair to commemorate deceased local residents. In 1984 the chapel was restored.

This chapel was built in 1887-1888 on land donated by a farmer from Serskamp and a shopkeeper from Schellebelle. It was used for a long time for the veneration of Mary in the month of May and for praying the rosary at a death in the neighborhood (source: local history society Wichelen)
