Road cycling
The church belonged to the nearby convent of the Clerics Regular of Somasca. It was one of them, Father Francesco Vecellio, who designed this elegant building in the mid-eighteenth century, which was consecrated on 25 December 1758. The church became a parish church and seat of the school of shoemakers. Unlike other buildings in the city, this church survived the Napoleonic suppressions: it was downgraded to a vicarial church, while the Somaschi fathers moved to the nearby Church of Santa Fosca in Santa Maria Maggiore, which held ownership of the parish.
