The Monumental Military Cemetery of Arsiero, adjacent to the municipal cemetery, collects 2,173 Italian and Austro-Hungarian corpses from the field cemeteries of the surrounding mountains and municipalities: an area that was on the front line and therefore the scene of bloody battles during the Great War.
Unlike many other cemeteries, the bodies were not exhumed to order and concentrate them in the Vicenza ossuaries of Cimone, Pasubio, Asiago and Monte Grappa between the 1920s and 1930s.
