Here the karst hiking trail runs along the narrow ridge between two deep sinkholes. The particularly deep sow hole is still active today. A small brook disappears into it, which drains water from the source horizon at the border of Buntsandstein and Zechstein. The Buntsandstein sediments carried along by the water have heavily silted up the bottom of the sinkhole.

Hiking
The Sauloch, also called Urbachdoline, was excavated here at the end of the 80s by cave researchers from Dresden. They were abandoned unsuccessfully and traces of it are no longer visible today.
