Great to drive (recently with views and in blazing sun because the spruce trees are gone), but only if you are very early and still quite alone on the road. Of course, you have to be considerate of hikers on such narrow paths and drive accordingly carefully.

Snowshoeing

The Huttal Ditch, along with the Huttal Watercourse and the Huttal Weir, was constructed in the 1760s. It represents a technical masterpiece and a daring experiment, as no comparable structure existed at the time. The courage and risk taken by the Upper Harz miners were richly rewarded by the flawless functioning of the Huttal Ditch and its associated structures.
