The Marian grotto of the pilgrimage basilica of the Holy Trinity in Gößweinstein is worth seeing. Lots of burnt candles show love for the Mother of God.

Since all bronze bells were cast for weapons in World War II, bells made of iron were hung here. However, since iron is not so resistant, these began to rust after only 50 years. The local bank received these as a souvenir

Hiking

As a replacement for the bronze bells that had to be delivered during the war year 1941 to make weapons, a new set of bells, consisting of six steel bells, was purchased for the basilica in 1947. Rust and signs of wear meant that all steel bells had to be removed from the towers after just 50 years. There was a risk of falling.
