The cathedral of Brindisi is the city's cathedral, dedicated to the Visitation and to St. John the Baptist. Dating back to the 11th century, it was consecrated by Pope Urban II and built in the Apulian Romanesque style. The facade is tripartite and decorated with four statues of saints, overlooking the oldest square in Brindisi where the Episcopal Seminary and the Provincial Archaeological Museum are also located.
