Hiking

1,313 Mühlhäuser fell between 1914 and 1918 on the fronts of the First World War. The war memorial on the Stadtberg was built in their memory. The laying of the foundation stone took place on October 27, 1926 and the inauguration on June 5, 1928. A book of heroes with the names of the dead was embedded in the keystone. The monument comes from experience
Its meaning has changed more recently. On Remembrance Day, citizens remember all victims of violence and war of all nations.

From the height of the war memorial on the Stadtberg, which was inaugurated in 1928, a magnificent panorama of the former imperial city opens up. From here you can also see large parts of the Mühlhausen area between the city forest in the west, Dün in the north and Heilinger Höhe in the east. The numerous church towers stand out in the cityscape. Together they are landmarks of Mühlhausen, which is particularly proud of its churches, each of which combines the city's history and present with their own usage concepts.
