The wine village of Kinheim with its districts Kinheim-Kindel and Kinheim-Höhe is located in the large Moselle loop between Traben-Trarbach and Bernkastel in the "Middle Moselle-Kondelwald wine and holiday region". The wine village is stretched out and nestles against the steep vineyards of the Moselle. The wine village offers a wealth of romantic corners, half-timbered houses and old wine farms that are worth seeing. In 1976, during archaeological excavations, the remains of a Roman villa and a sculpture of the ancient Gallo-Roman protective god "Sucellus" were discovered.
