Hiking

Gnarled, overgrown hornbeams line the dead-straight avenue that connects Kransberg Castle with the small chapel.

Hiking

In winter and without leaves you can see how old and overgrown the trees are. Many trunks are torn open or there is only one segment left, it is hard to believe that they still sprout again every year!

Hiking

Hainbuchenallee: From Kransberg Castle to the Kreuzkapelle in a straight, steep line leads the Hainbuchenallee with over 100 hornbeams, which are up to 250 years old. Because of its uniqueness in western Germany, it is a landscape element of particular cultural significance.
