The Lachea island and the Cyclops stacks are a protected natural area of volcanic origin located in front of the town of Aci Trezza. According to the myth, they are the boulders thrown by Polyphemus against Ulysses, who was fleeing from his cave.

Cyclops Islands. The name Cyclops Islands refers to Greek mythology: Odysseus managed to blind a giant Cyclops who was holding him captive and then escaped by ship.
