Annapurna (Nepali: Annapūrṇa, formerly also Morshiadi) is an eight-thousander in the Himalayas in Nepal. At 8,091 meters, Annapurna is the tenth highest mountain in the world.
Annapurna is the least climbed eight-thousander and, due to the high risk of avalanches, one of the most dangerous. By March 2012, a good 190 climbers had reached the summit, and 61 had died there.
