set up. The scene, created by the artist couple Renate and Leo Janischowsky from Steinfurt, depicts a boatman and a merchant who have just agreed on a deal. The Haselünner merchant wears a coat with a top hat and a bow tie, which is hardly common these days. The seaman, of course with a beard, wears a sailor's cap with the shirt that was once typical of seafarers.
