Embark on the Mulkey Ridge Trail and Allen Throop Loop for a refreshing jogging experience that spans 7.6 miles (12.3 km). This moderate route challenges you with a total elevation gain of 967 feet (295 metres), typically completed in about 1 hour and 35 minutes. As you jog, you will transition from the peaceful, sun-dappled mixed deciduous and oak woodlands of Mulkey Ridge to the open vistas of the Allen Throop Loop, offering expansive views of Corvallis and the distant Cascade Mountains.

Before you head out, be aware that the Mulkey Ridge Trail section can be quite muddy during wetter periods due to sticky clay soils, so check conditions, especially after rain. Parking is generally available at the various trailheads that connect to this network. Planning your visit during drier seasons will ensure a more enjoyable jogging experience on this popular route.

This loop is nestled within the Fitton Green Natural Area and Bald Hill Natural Area, providing a diverse natural setting for your workout. Keep an eye out for seasonal wildflowers that add splashes of color to the open Oak Savannah areas. The varied landscape makes this trail a notable option for joggers looking for both shaded woodland paths and scenic overlooks in the Corvallis area.
