Here is the most beautiful of the pyramids on Pico, roughly framed by a playground and modern buildings. And that's just supposed to be - as the sign says - a kind of spoil heap for volcanic rocks? More recent studies seem to paint a different picture. The resemblance to buildings on Tenerife, for example, is remarkable. So it is evidence of an early culture on Pico after all?
