Borg Welgelegen has been serving as the association building and meeting room of the Odd Fellowhuis Welgelegen Foundation, which owned the estate, since the late 1960s. Hiking
The old garden was renovated in 2022. They did their best to renovate that garden, because a few large old trees were blown over by a heavy storm. The paths and old parts in the garden had also completely subsided, and the Veenborg itself really needed a makeover to look as beautiful as it used to. The Groninger Landschap has made great efforts to restore the old glory of the garden and the Veenborg.
