The "Dicke Eiche" on the B 27 above Untererthal at a parking lot is more than the name of an extraordinary tree. Everyone here knows the thick oak and so far the name is for a very long time especially a corridor or place name, which will probably still exist when the tree is no longer there.
After all: she is still alive, the old oak, although she is hollow for many years inside and even though "bad boys" many years ago had set a fire in the cave.

It was once a mighty tree, and it is already very old.
