At the location of the former mighty Geisenburg fortress (also known as Freudenstein Castle), you will only find the foundations today. The castle was built by King John of Bohemia in 1340, but was destroyed shortly afterwards by the Archbishop Balduin of Trier in the years 1348 to 1353.
