The privately owned Villa Callas has remained unchanged in its external appearance since it was purchased in the 1950s by Giovanni Battista Meneghini, a Veronese entrepreneur and husband of the soprano Maria Callas, to spend his holidays in Sirmione. After the couple separated, the villa was sold and renovated in recent years.
The property is now visible from the outside, where there is also a plaque commemorating the presence of Maria Callas and Giovanni Battista Meneghini in Sirmione.
