Very beautiful old town, over which the castle towers majestically. Worth a detour! The name of the city is of Arabic origin and was first mentioned at the end of the 11th century.

The municipality of Bañeres, or Banyeres de Mariola in Valencian, is famous for its suggestive castle of Almohad origin at the top of a hill. In the 13th century, the fortress marked the border between the kingdoms of Castile and Aragon.
