The massive conversion project from the temporarily abusive sewer back to the natural river is now known from the Emscher in the Ruhr area. In the eastern Ruhr area, however, there is a second, quite large watercourse system, the Seseke, which was straightened in places and also functioned as a "Köttelbecke". Decades later, the Seseke program was developed, which provided for the natural redesign of the run. On the Seseke-Weg you can experience the change by bike and accompany the river (almost) from the source to the mouth in the Lippe.

The Seseke cycle path is the most beautiful river cycle path that I have ridden here in our region so far. Well signposted and very suitable for young and old. Approx. 25 km long and super flat. Also great to drive without an engine.

The Seseke Cycle Route, also known as the Seseke Way, is an attractive route for cyclists that runs along the Seseke River. It stretches over a length of around 25 km between Flierich and Lenningsen to Lünen, where the Seseke flows into the Lippe. The route begins in Hamm at the main train station and leads along the Datteln-Hamm Canal and the Lippe, past the Rünthe Marina and around the Heil power plant to the Lünen Seepark. The route leads directly along the Seseke through Kamen to Bönen and offers a mixture of natural beauty and cultural highlights.
