Rarely have we seen a prettier and neater market place. An almost perfect square, surrounded by old town houses and two pretty pubs, in the middle a wonderful fountain with a radiantly freshly gilded Madonna, that's almost Biedermeier cosiness.

"In the midst of the spacious square there were once two wells (cattle troughs) .The old six-tube fountain was replaced by a four-tube fountain in 1837. Instead of the Madonna on the globe there was the statue of the Bavarian lion earlier."
