The classic Out family bakery is a national monument. Bread has been baked in the bakery for over 400 years. There must have been a bakery here as early as 1600. It is then referred to as a "bread, cake and rusk bakery and pub". The oldest known baker is Bruijn Claesz, who is mentioned as a neighbor in a deed of transfer of ownership from the Portuguese-Israelite cemetery. In the following centuries, the bakery changed hands several times. The oldest visible part of the building dates from the 18th century.
