Hiking

The Thurspitz was created artificially at the first Thur correction in the late 19th century. Therefore, the Thur flows unnaturally at an acute angle into the Rhine, so that at high tide water and debris can flow as quickly as possible into the Rhine and there is less backwater in the Rhine. With the second Thur correction in the 2000s, most obstructions were removed, so that the Thurspitz will completely change its appearance in a few years.
