The Landsort battery is sometimes referred to as gun #3 because it was part of a series of six built at strategic coastal locations around Sweden.
The Landsort battery has been declared a protected historical site to preserve Cold War military history. The underground facility is built into solid rock, open to visitors by guided tour in the summer months (usually June–August).
