The lighthouse was built in 1906, in a period when South Jutland belonged to Germany. In July 1920 he was taken over by the German authorities. The iron tower is 10 m high.

Originally, it was fitted with a lens and a spirit burner.
In 1921, it was converted to acetone gas and a new burner was installed.
