Cugno di Sotto is located on the slopes of Monte Caravino, at the confluence of the Stabina stream into the Brembo.
The ancient toponym "Cunio", mentioned in a parchment of 1194, literally means "wedged" between the two waterways.

Above the portal is a fresco with the Annunciation.
In the village there are other anonymous frescoes and the church of San Pietro Martire.

On the façade representations of amphorae with bouquets of flowers are still visible; under one of these the date 1680.
On the vault of the presbytery there is a fresco of a dove, symbol of the Holy Spirit, on the wall of the nave a votive fresco with the Madonna, the Child Jesus, St. Joseph and St. Anthony of Padua, coming from a private house.
