The statue of Empress Kunigunde stands on the Lower Bridge. She was the wife of Emperor Heinrich II. After his death, Kunigunde led the affairs of state of the East Franconian-German Empire for a short time. Like her husband, she belongs to the saints of the Catholic Church and was also a co-founder of the diocese of Bamberg.
