L. Rinquet came to Xhoffraix in 1935 after having been professor of Athenaeum for several years. After his mother's death, he chose the solitude of the moor, which he already knew very well because he had traveled there with friends. He and two of his friends built a long and solid wooden hut with a thatched roof. He captured the Ru waters flowing nearby and even considered using the waterfall to light his house.
