Around the year 1600, a half-timbered brick church was built in the village. In 1879 a neo-Romanesque new building was built from red Rathenow bricks. A modest tower is executed in the west.

A church in Schwanebeck was mentioned in documents as early as 1179 as a branch church of the church in Niebede. The place, which had fallen into desolation at the end of the 14th century, was repopulated from the 16th century onwards by members of the Bredow family, who owned two estates in the area.
