    At the Risti train station, there is a monument today to the deported people from Läänemaa, who were taken from Estonia to Siberia during the ethnic deportations in the USSR between 1940 and 1950.

    The monument was designed by Viljar Ansko and is titled “The railway tracks remember…”. It is just under 13 meters high.
