The station building and the goods shed were completed in 1893, the tracks a year later. With the completion of this last section, rail operations between Zurich HB - Zurich Letten and Zurich Stadelhofen began on October 1, 1894.

The former train station "Zürich Letten" opened in 1894 and was part of the Zürich - Meilen - Rapperswil steam railway line. In 1926, the railway line became electric. As the result of the construction of the underground railway line between Zürich Main Station and Zürich Stadelhofen, Zürich Letten station became obsolete and closed in 1989.
