Up close encounters with ground squirrels :) Meadow right next to the parking lot of the Gerasdorf bathing pond.

On a second thought, I've encountered a whole lot of them on a rainy April morning this year, with an added advantage of being alone with them. And I've seen tons of them in Mai in a late afternoon.
I guess that they are less choosy in the spring than later in summer. :-)
