Before the first church was built in Klockrike there was probably a wooden chapel. The place was called Klockarens Eichenwald, which eventually gave rise to the name Klockrike via "Klokkarike" (1345, 1348, 1349) and "Clokkariche" (1350). There is a source of sacrifice and it is believed that the oak forest of Klockaren was a pagan place of worship and sacrifice.
