Hiking
Crabtree Meadows is a popular spot for PCT hikers to pitch their tents and to hike up Mount Whitney. The PCT permit allows them to day hike the highest mountain of the contiguous US, but camping is limited to Crabtree as the most eastern point. Whitney Creek is a reliable water source and the area has a primitive pit toilet.
