At Johannesplatz, the original ramps leading into and out of the water for washing horses and carriages were replaced with steps during the last renovation. The stream is one of the many branches of the Badener Mühlbach.

The Rossschwemme in Laxenburg is a historic, listed water basin on Johannesplatz, built in the first quarter of the 18th century. It formerly served as a watering and washing place for horses, is bordered by cobblestones, and houses a statue of Saint John of Nepomuk.
