"The three steel sculptures by the graduate designer Klaus Evenburg from Wilhelmshaven have been decorating the air dyke on the south beach since 2000. The wind guards are seven to nine meters high and represent the coastal residents who are in close contact with the natural forces of water and wind, and symbolize them but also the natural conflict between them. That is why the Steelheads turn with the wind and thus face the sea or the inland, depending on the wind direction."
