Hiking

The Nebelhornbahn is a modern and good cable car from Oberstdorf to the Nebelhorn. There is an intermediate station where you can get off. If you want to go all the way to the top (which I can only recommend) you have to change to another cable car. The first one has seats. Catering is available everywhere. The ride and the view are spectacular and it is definitely worth it. Price-wise, as is usual for such attractions, unfortunately not cheap, but still justifiable.

We walked up from the bottom, with two children, 8 and 9 years old. Up over the gorge, the path is very beautiful, but everyone should have sturdy and good shoes. You should also be in good physical condition if you run up from the very bottom.
