Hiking

The historic center of Certaldo Alto is one of the best-preserved medieval villages in Tuscany. The special feature of this place is that it was built almost entirely of red brick and has retained its original, defensive appearance to this day. Unlike many other tourist centers, Certaldo Alto is largely car-free and is picturesquely situated on a hill above the modern part of the town (Certaldo Basso).
