The church of Sant Llorenç de Vilardell is of ancient tradition, although there is no documentation until 1279. It was probably built in the 13th century in the popular Romanesque style and has been subject to various reforms over the centuries. The interior has a rectangular nave with a pointed barrel vault and a bell tower with two semicircular arches. The church was renovated in 2010 due to the poor condition of the vault. In addition, it houses part of the scientific documentation of the naturalist Martí Boada.

Historically, the bridge was used to cross a stream or small creek of Vallgurgina, facilitating passage between different towns or trade routes in the region. It was part of the infrastructure that connected nearby villages with other important points in the region.
