Florence is one of the most famous art cities in the world. The Piazza della Signoria was the city's center of political power for centuries. It is dominated by the Palazzo Vecchio, where the Medici resided before moving to the Palazzo Pitti. In front of the entrance to the palazzo is a famous group of sculptures, including a marble copy of Michelangelo's "David".
