The Zoppenbrücker Hof stands on the northern Düssel. The Zoppenbrücke itself was already mentioned in the 16th century. There were four farms in this swampy, lonely landscape of Flingern.
Today, the Zoppenbrücker Hof hides lost under the threateningly towering modern office facades and stubbornly defies the changing times.
Zoppenbruecker Hof
Count Recke created an island of refuge for the poor and sick on the estate in 1845. Five years earlier, Count Adelberdt von der Recke-Volmerstein, his full name, had acquired the farm. The Empress of Russia and the King of Holland vouched for him.
