The Linachtalsperre is quite unique because of its unusual construction as a row of vaulted dams and is definitely worth a detour for that reason alone. The entire route through the Linachstal and Mäderstal valleys is an absolute recommendation for racing bikes, a wonderful route, well paved and very quiet.

It is the only (dam)-lake, even with architectural flair, in the wide area which is sometimes also open for swimming. The route through the Linachtal is appealing and at least in the early morning or at night has little traffic. Especially the three consecutive climbs offer an excellent workout to end the day.
Not to forget: The dam is a section in the ScharzwälderBikeMaraton.
