The Ritterstein is a massive sandstone block marking the end of a series of stones on a hillside. The inscription reads: MOOSALBSPRUNG (Moss Spring). Below the inscription is: 40 Schr. (40 steps). Between 40 and Schr. (steps) is a directional arrow. At the bottom right of the stone is the abbreviation P W V, for the Palatinate Forest Association.
